Iran border crossings in Balochistan closed in unspecified period

The Balochistan government on Sunday closed all border crossing points with Iran in Panjgur, Gwadar and Kech for an unspecified period, quoting regional instability and security concerns following the recent escalations in the Middle East.

According to official statements from district administrations, border crossings with Iran in Panjgur, Gwadar and Kech have been closed so far.

In Panjgur, the authorities confirmed that movement through Cheedgi and Jirak-Prom intersections would remain suspended.

Local officials urged residents to avoid unnecessary travel and cooperation with the authorities during this period of increased alarm.

Gwadar’s administration also confirmed the closure of GABD-Kalato 250 border corridor following directives from the Balochistan government. In a public appeal, officials asked for public cooperation and advised individuals to contact local authorities for any guidance or assistance.

Meanwhile, the Radeeg-Man border transition in the Kech district has also been closed. Deputy Commissioner Kech said the decision was made in response to the “unstable situation in Iran” and emphasized the need for caution and public cooperation.

Pakistan’s Ministry of the Interior has further advised its citizens to avoid traveling to Iran because of the ongoing conflict between Iran and Israel. In addition, the airspace between the two countries remains suspended.

Despite these closures, the Taftan boundary transition in the Chagai district of operational remains.

Authorities that confirmed that cross -border trade and the movement of passengers continue as usual.
