Iran closes the Strait of Hormuz AGAIN after Israeli attacks on Lebanon

Iran has once again announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, hours after agreeing to open the key oil route in a cease-fire deal with the US

Iran’s Father’s News Agency, associated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, reported the news of closure, saying it was in retaliation for Israel’s massive airstrikes on Lebanon.

Israel used more than 50 jets in its biggest airstrikes on Beirut after the US and Iran agreed to a 14-day ceasefire.

Pakistan brokered the peace talks and said Lebanon was included in the deal; However, Israel denied the claim and vowed to continue attacks against Hezbollah.

According to the Lebanese Ministry of Health, the recent strikes have resulted in the killing of over 112 people and 837 injured.

In response to the brazen Israeli attacks, the aviation chief of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, General Seyed Majid Mousavi, took to X and wrote: “Aggression against Lebanon is aggression against Iran.”

He also warned that Iran was preparing for strong retaliation, without sharing many details.

It happens after US Vice President JD Vance has described the ceasefire as a fragile agreement.

Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has condemned Israeli attacks on Lebanon. He took to X and wrote: “Just today, Netanyahu is launching his fiercest attack on Lebanon since the offensive began. His contempt for life and international law is intolerable. It’s time to speak clearly: Lebanon must be included in the ceasefire.”

He continued: “The international community must condemn this new violation of international law. The European Union must suspend its Association Agreement with Israel. And there must be no impunity for these criminal acts.”

Earlier, Iran opened the Strait of Hormuz and two oil tankers were allowed to pass with Iran’s permission.
