Iranian Prime Minister expands inner compassion

Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni has expressed grief and compassion for the loss of life due to the heavy rain and flooding in Pakistan, especially in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and Gilgit Baltistan (GB).

Momeni held a telephone conversation with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and conveyed his heartfelt sympathy to the families to those who lost their lives. He offered cooperation and help to the flooded people in Pakistan to his Pakistani counterpart, Naqvi.

“It is deeply sad to witness the destruction caused by flooding in Pakistan,” he added. “Hundreds of people have been separated from their loved ones.”

The Iranian minister confirmed that his country stands shoulder to shoulder with the population of Pakistan. Naqvi thanked his Iranian counterpart.

“Climate change is becoming a harbinger of devastating destruction in Pakistan,” Naqvi added. “For the first time in history, Pakistan is undergoing such a dangerous climate situation.”

KP has been severely affected by flash floods and heavy rain, leaving over 400 dead, 190 wounded and over 1,600 homes damaged, with buns reporting the highest deaths. Many areas have been subjected to mass destruction and remain inaccessible, leaving countless displaced.
