Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and DG Ispr lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry address a joint press conference in the middle of escalating tensions between Pakistan and India after the Pahagam attack on April 22 in Indically illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), which left at least 26 dead.

India has accused Pakistan of involvement without presenting any evidence. New Delhi responded with punitive actions, including suspension of the Indus Waters Treaty, Visa Revocations and closure of the Wagah Attari junction. On the other hand, Islamabad expelled Indian diplomats, canceled Visa for Indian citizens (except Sikh Pilgrims) and closed its side of the main border.

Minister of Information Attaullah Tarar warned that Pakistan has credible intelligence about potential Indian military action within 24 to 36 hours and felt India’s claims “baseless and interconnected.”

DG ISPR, who approached the media one day earlier, shared what he called “undeniable” proof of Indian state -sponsored terrorism inside Pakistan, claiming that India is supplying weapons, IEDs and explosives to militants aimed at both civilians and security forces.

Despite the growing confrontation, Pakistan repeated his denial of involvement in the Kashmir attack and offered to cooperate in a credible study. Defense Minister Khawaja Asif also warned that the situation could spiral into a full -scale war if it was not peeled off.

The UN has called on both nations to exercise “maximum restraint” to avoid further deterioration.
