Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq DAR will be embarking on a two-day visit to Hong Kong on Thursday to participate in the signing ceremony for the establishment of the international organization for mediation (IOMED).
During his visit, DAR will formally sign the Convention on the Creating of Iomed and provide an address at the ceremony on May 30. He is also scheduled to hold bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the event, according to the statement from the Foreign Office on Wednesday.
“Pakistan believes that peace and security as well as global prosperity can be promoted and preserved through strict compliance with the principles of the UN Charter, faithful implementation of the UN Security Council’s decisions and international law,” it says.
It added that mediation, diplomacy, dialogue and international cooperation remain the most important pillars of Pakistan’s foreign policy approach.
Pakistan joins Iomed as one of its basic members and emphasized his commitment to the peaceful decision on international disputes.
“Pakistan remains strongly supportive of the goals and goals of the International Organization for Mediation and recognizes its potential for peaceful and Pacific area for the settlement of international disputes,” the declaration added.

Last week, Dar Beijing visited the invitation from Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi after an escalation with India.
