On the other hand, the Central Ruet-E-Hilal Committee in Peshawar meets today (Friday) for Ramadan Moon Sighting. However, Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has said there is little chance of seeing the Ramadan moon on Friday due to cloudy weather.
The Central Ruet-E-Hilal Committee will meet in Peshawar at. 18:30 on February 28 to determine the start of the Holy Month. The chairman of the committee, Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, will preside over the meeting after the ASR prayer.
According to the Ministry of Religious Affairs, zone committees across the country will also convene separately to assess the Moon’s observation reports. Religious scholars from different school schools will participate in the central session.
Met Office has predicted partially cloudy conditions over Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, over the next 24 hours. “Due to cloudy weather, the chance to see the Ramadan moon is low,” the department said.
