Capital Development Authority (CDA) launched a major operation on Monday and sealed several illegal markings and commercial structures in various areas of the federal capital.

This action was taken under the directives of the CDA chairman as part of a broader campaign to eliminate intervention and unauthorized constructions in Islamabad.

The enforcement drive was carried out under Building Control Regulations 2020 (changed 2023) to ensure compliance with the city’s development legislation.

Among the sealed structures were: Blessings Marquee (Thanda Pani, Lehtrar Road) – Sealed (found Operational), Lianansa Marquee (Islamabad Expressway) – Building Work Stopped (Renovation in progress), Punjab Cash and Carry (Naval Anchorage Access Road) – Sealed (under construction), Wassna Palace Construction Operational).

CDA had previously released 15-day messages followed by the 7-day show-year-in-the-owners of these structures and instructed them to regulate their buildings or clear pending taxes. However, due to non-compliance, the authority continued with the sealing and demolition actions.

A spokesman repeated the authority’s obligation to maintain planned urban development in Islamabad.
