A flight from Islamabad to Dubai was delayed by seven hours, causing frustration among about 200 passengers staging a protest at the new Islamabad Airport.
The flight operated by a private airline was originally scheduled to travel at 1 p.m. 14.15. However, despite the long delay, the flight was unable to start even after seven hours.
Passengers, including older individuals, women and children, expressed their anger by protesting against the airport and demanding an explanation of the delay.
Aviation staff was particularly absent and added to passengers’ frustration. As a result, passengers who had been waiting for hours were left without help or information about the status of the fly.
The protest disturbed the operations at the airport and passengers urged the airline to tackle the situation and ensure that such delays do not occur in the future.
Earlier due to heavy rain and fog, six flights to northern regions have been canceled, affecting aircraft operations. Dense fog affects visibility in Faisalabad, Multan, Sialkot and Islamabad Airports.
Lahore Airport is experiencing thunderstorms with lightning, and partial rain is ongoing in Peshawar.
According to the airplanes, four flights from Islamabad to Gilgit (PK 601, 602, 605 and 606) have been canceled.
In addition, two flights from Islamabad to Skardu (PK 451 and 452) have also been canceled. The flight plan indicates delays in the arrival and departure of 14 other flights at different airports.
