It was until The white lotus Season 3 was broadcast on Max last night, and the new theme Melody not only does not catch the heights of its predecessor, but was greeted with pure disappointment from some fans of the award -winning series.
While I fully expect Mike White’s third season to continue with the trend of being one of the best maximum shows, its theme was melody iconic – no other TV shows opening tap The white lotus Season 2’s. In fact, the second season’s theme melody was a changed version of the original, a more muted and honestly disappointing theme tune.
The disappointment was documented in real time at Reddit, where a user created a thread that expected the start of the show entitled “Most excited about the theme song!”

Within minutes after the new season sent, fans flocked to the thread and commented on how disappointed they were with the new theme song. A person said, “Not to be dramatic, but the new theme song has literally ruined the whole weekend.” Another replied, “What is this !!! I was shocked when it continued without changes, I literally expected a needle drop until the last second.”
Another added: “My disappointment is immense.” While a fan thought the showers were actually playing with the audience, ”I think they play us with that introduction to get our reactions. I wonder if it’s a meta game to get viewers to complain as the guests at The white lotus”.
It is fair to say that I share a similar feeling of the beautiful broken reddit users who crave The white lotus‘Opening credit. Through seasons 1 and 2, this theme was the melody source of many main buns in my living room, and the expanded version of Cristobal Tapia de Veer was one of my most listed songs on Spotify in 2022.

As I am based in the UK I have not yet seen the first two episodes of The white lotus Season 3, and although I am still excited about the new story and herd, I cannot help but feel disappointed with the theme of Melody.
Yes, the theme melody changed from season to season, but it had continuity and a kind of remix element that made it feel a lot ‘The white lotus‘. This new song just feels out of place and unless it adapts throughout Season 3, I will probably start to skip it like any other TV show I watch.
The white lotus Season three is set in Thailand and has a star -studded role crew, including Leslie Bibb, Carrie Coon, Michelle Monaghan, Walton Goggins, Aimee Lou Wood, Jason Isaacs, Parker Posey, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Blackpinks Lalisa Manobal and Natasha Rothwell.
I am still excited to see the new season tonight, though I fully expect that I will hum along ‘looolooolOOOOOOOOOOOOS’ from the old theme tunes when I click Play.
