Jack Quaid did not feel loved on the set of Companion.
In the film, the Quaid plays the antagonist who brings his Android boyfriend to an escape with his friends.
The boy star revealed that the crew of the film was standing around the protagonist and was against his character.
He told me Entertainment weekly: “There are these kinds of interesting things that happen on a movie set or a TV set where – and it makes sense! – The crew will kind of rally around the character that is the protagonist,” Quaid says.
“They want to root for the protagonist, and it’s amazing you want it. I remember those kinds would say little haunting sides about Josh, who are totally deserved, but I had to set them,” he shared.
He said he couldn’t remember any specific joke he had to take, “but it was just a kind of general mood.”
He continued: “I tried to see it as a good sign. I think it’s if the crew, who is your first audience, root of the protagonist and against the antagonist, that’s a thousand percent what you want. And I deepest Seen just decided to take it as ‘okay, we might be on the right track here.’ “
Quaid noted that he has always been at the other end of this dynamic as this is his first time to play a villain.
“I’ve been there when it’s done to the person who plays the antagonist and it makes sense, but you have to set it,” he explained. “You have to fool yourself into thinking that the character you play is a good guy and I’m so glad I don’t have to do it anymore because he’s a real s — Head.
