Jaffar Express stopped after track blowing

Lahore/Quetta:

Jaffar Express, scheduled to deviate from Quetta to Peshawar on Wednesday, was canceled, confirmed the rail members, adding that the services remain suspended in the next three days as the repair work continues on the damaged track.

Authorities confirmed that passengers have been given full refund.

A day earlier, a railway track in the Dasht area was hit by a strong explosion targeting Jaffar Express. The blast caused four bogies to derail and left almost a dozen passengers injured, including women and children.

Rescue operations were launched shortly after the incident. Heavy machines had been deployed to restore the track while derailing coaches were lifted and the damaged bogies were removed.

Railway men said that both Jaffar Express and Bolan Express services remain suspended and would only resume when the track has been fully restored.

Separate, Fareed Express, traveling from Lahore to Karachi, derailed while entering platform two at Kotri Railway Junction. Three bogies of the train were derailed.

Railway personnel and cranes had been called in to restore the derailed coaches. Meanwhile, passengers from the affected trainers were moved to other rooms.

According to sources of the Express Pakinomist, more than 200 incidents of train tracking have been reported each year.
