James Arthur reveals surprising effects of ADHD on his songs

James Arthur, who got fame after winning X-Factor in 2012, has just released the song, Adhd, After being diagnosed with the same disease.

“I see ADHD as a superpower when it comes to songwriting,” he said. “It allows me to have a hyper -focus when it comes to things I am passionate about. And I keep deep about songwriting – so I can lock into long periods.”

Refers to his newly released sixth studio album, The fish, Arthur told the publication that he is ‘proud of it’, because in the album he is ‘unapologetically’ himself.

Meanwhile, the 37-year-old singer explained that his songs helped his listeners reach out to other people they haven’t talked about for a while and discussed more openly about mental health.

“It is important to have a healthy internal dialogue, because if we said some of the things we say to ourselves aloud to someone else, we would probably get a black eye!” he continued.

Before the ending, Arthur shared. “It’s always catartic to write about difficult things. Making me vulnerable take courage and I know I’m helping others.”
