Diana Prince comes to DC Universe (DCU) earlier than anyone expected after James Gunn confirmed that a new Wonder Woman movie is under development.
In a speech with Entertainment Weekly (EW), the co-chief of DC Studios surprisingly revealed that a Wonder Woman movie is not only “written right now” but also worked on separately for Paradise lost.
The latter is a maximum TV show that would be a Game of Thrones-Inspired project based on Themyscira, alias the idyllic, whole female island nation Diana Prince comes from. Paradise lost Was announced as part of the DCU chapter 1 -lineup in January 2023, but as Gunn also told EW, progress is slowly moving on this series’ development.
A Wonder Woman movie message is not a shock in itself – after all, Amazonian is a member of DC Comics’ iconic trinity of superheroes. If you were not aware of the other Superman and Batman.
Still in view of that Paradise lost Was intended to act as a precursor to Woman’s possible arrival in DCU, I do not think anyone predicted that Gunn would confirm that a Diana Prince-led project is already being worked on. I say that after Gunn triggered excitement over Wonder Woman’s DCU debut less than a month ago (yet at the time of announcement).
Which actor will fans play Wonder Woman in DCU?
It will be a few years before Wonder Woman returns on the big screen. In fact, we do not know how much work has ended on his manuscript, nor do we have any idea which actor follows in the footsteps of Gal Gadot and Lynda Carter, who previously played Diana Prince in a live action capacity.
On his part, Gunn Ew told that he and colleague DC Studios-CO chief Peter Safran has not opened the casting call yet. In fact, threads on DC Cinematic and DCU leaks Reddit pages as well as one on Resetera are full of suggestions from both cartoon fans and relaxed observers.

It is, however, another Star Wars -Alumnus – one who joined Dulau on Andor‘s role crew – who is the clear favorite of many DC fans: Adria Arjona.
I could see that happen. I think any of the aforementioned actors would be a good fit to play Diana Prince, but Arjona would certainly be my top choice to take on the role of one of DC Comics’ most popular heroes.
She has shown that she has the ability to play such a multidimensional character in several projects including AndorAt Hit manAt Blink twiceand Good signs. Do so, Mrs. Gunn and Safran, and I’m sure you make lots of people happy.
