James Gunn had dropped the biggest tip yet over Supergirl‘s age assessment – and if you expected it to a mature movie, you will be disappointed.
Speaking as part of a roundtable participation that Techradar participated in to promote Peacemaker Season 2 strongly suggested that Milly Alcock -starring DC Universe (DCU) movie won’t be as age -limited as some viewers might have expected. Instead, Gunn indicated it is falling within the same bracket as Gunn’s Superman Movies that wore a PG-13 assessment in the United States and a 12A classification in the UK.
As part of a broader answer about how each The DCU Chapter 1 Project Age assessment is determined, especially in a shared cinematic world where grades from R-classified productions could be shown in more family-oriented and vice versa, Gunn replied: “I think it is exciting to be able to tell different stories for different groups of people.
“Then you know, Superman was for everyone. Peacemaker is for an adult audience. Supergirl will be for everyone. We have Krypto -Shorts [included on Superman‘s forthcoming physical release] There are for children. Then we have it Clayfacewhich is an R-classified horror movie. So I really like the idea of telling really different stories within a unique universe. “

Supergirlthat became known as Supergirl: Tomorrow Woman Until Gunn confirmed his shorter title in June, it will be the next DCU movie flying into theaters. Supergirl‘s official release date was confirmed in June 2024, and it will make its global theater debut on June 26, 2026.
We haven’t had to wait for our first glimpse of Alcock in Gunn and Peter Safran’s new look DC Comic-Book universe. In January, the film’s first photo showed Alcocks Kara Zor-El in a place that will be very well known for DC Comic fans. Then, after teasing it Superman would include grades Gunn had not publicly revealed Supergirl film.
After Kara’s overly brief appearance in her cousin’s latest big-screen adventure, Supergirl‘s first poster revealed an almost full first look at her superhero costume and put a rebellious spin on Superman‘S’ Slow Up ‘Tagline. If you expected her to be a creaking clean like Clark Kent/Kal-EL, you’re very wrong.
