The Los Angeles Clippers star James Harden was accused of negligence when his nephew was sued for alleged sexual assault and rape that took place on a New Year’s Eve in December 2024.

Marisa Watley accused Justice Armani Blackburn for sexual assault and rape in the trial filed in Harris County, Texas. The lawsuit accused the hardening of negligence “because of the execution of his security staff in the home after the party,” according to a news message from Wigdor Law.

A lawyer was not listed for Blackburn. Pakinomist Digital reached Harden’s Agency and Clippers for Comment.

Watley claimed that Harden’s security team removed two of her friends who had attended the party in his home with her despite “their pleas that she was still inside.” Watley’s Friends contacted his sister, Elaina, who then came in contact with Harden’s sister – Mother of Blackburn. The trial said Elaina Watley was able to get a photo for Harden’s security, but team members said there was a woman in the home with Blackburn, but the woman was not Marisa Watley.

The trial claimed that if the Harden’s security team would have “acted responsibly”, they would have stopped the alleged rape.

“Since New Year’s Day, when I reported the rape of Mr. Blackburn to the police, I have remained amazed at how Mr. Harden’s security behaved that day – it’s painful to imagine that all this could have been stopped in time,” Watley said in a statement. “I hope this complaint pushes security staff in general to act more responsibly when women are in danger.”
