New York:

Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar said on Thursday that an extraordinary meeting of the Council for Foreign Ministers in the OIC countries will convene Jeddah on March 7, 2025, to discuss the gaza situation, especially in the light of the proposals to relocate the Palestinian people.

Deputy Prime Minister, who approached a news conference on the culmination of his three-day visit to the United States, evaluated the media in his telephone interactions with his colleagues from Iran, Egypt, Malaysia, UAE, Saudi Arabia and Turkiye on the proposals for displacement of Gaza -people to Egypt or Jordan and later of Israel to set up a Palestinian State in Saudi Arabia.

He said during the interactions that all foreign ministers called for an immediate extraordinary OIC Council for Foreign Ministers in early March to discuss the situation and the current OIC position internationally.

He reportedly said Arab leaders were scheduled to meet about the situation on February 27 and Gulf leaders on March 5, who would follow the extraordinary CFM meeting on March 7 in Jeddah, where he would represent Pakistan.

Dar, who was on a US visit to participate in the UN Security Council’s debate on multilateralism and global governance, told the media that Pakistan had also issued a strong statement of the proposals for relocation as the people in Palestine had all the rights on their country.

He said despite limited resources, Pakistan sent several shipments of relief to Gaza, Lebanon and Syria.
