Aaron Glenn, the New York Jets’ newest header, brought electricity to his initial press conference Monday, as he is ready to lead the franchise on the sidelines for the next few years.
Glenn was hired after he spent time as a defensive coordinator with the Detroit Lions. Despite plenty of damage to Lions’ defense this season, teams still managed to win NFC North and earn # 1 seed in the playoffs before being disturbed by Washington commanders.

He is Jets’ fourth main coach after Rex Ryan’s departure after the 2014 season. Ryan’s jet was the last iteration of the team to get an endgame. Todd Bowles, Adam Gase and Robert Saleh have since come and gone with only one season that ended over .500 – in 2015.
Glenn has a specific experience that the previous field generals do not have – he played for them.
Glenn starred as a jets cornerback from 1994 to 2001. He was a pro bowler twice in that time. He also played for Houston Texans, Dallas Cowboys, Jacksonville Jaguars and New Orleans Saints before retiring after the 2008 season.

“I wanted this job. I interviewed for a number of them but I wanted this job,” he added. “… I wouldn’t leave the building without shaking Woody [Johnson’s] hand and make sure we had a contract. So I’m just telling you now, everything else was already out of it. It was about Jets and it has been so from the beginning. “
The fiery message must now be backed up in the field.

Glenn and Front Office will have to decide whether to bring Aaron Rodgers back and whether they will put Garrett Wilson on the trade block. Davante Adams has also floated the idea of playing elsewhere after New York acquired him from Las Vegas Raiders.
