“It was important to have this discussion now to give clarity and enable each of us the right time to plan for our respective future. We would like to thank him for the leadership, passion and dedication he brought to the organization and wish him success with to move forward. ”

Rodgers spent two seasons with the team, but suffered a torn Achilles only four snaps in his first game during his jets’ office period.

When he returned from the season ending damage in 2024, Rodgers’ Jets went 5-12 and fired both head coach Robert Saleh and General Manager Joe Douglas during the season.

Rodgers threw in 3,987 yards and 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 17 games for Jets last season.

“I personally would like to thank Aaron for his time at the New York Jets,” owner Woody Johnson said in the statement.

“His arrival in 2023 was met with uninhibited excitement, and I will forever be grateful that he chose to join us to continue his Hall of Fame career. From the first day he embodied all that it meant to be A New York jet, embraced our fans, and immersed themselves in our city.
