Lahore:
Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Hafiz Naeemur Rehman has heavily condemned Israeli military actions in Palestine and condemned the international community, especially Muslim countries, to be silent spectators.
He spoke during an emergency press conference held at the party’s headquarters in Mansoora on Sunday, announcing a nationwide solidarity campaign with the Palestinian people, including a number of protest meetings to be held outside US diplomatic missions.
The demonstrations are scheduled for April 11 in Lahore, April 13 in Karachi and April 20 in Islamabad, which he said is intended to “send a strong message” against Israeli atrocities.
“The true face of Western powers and Muslim regimes supporting Israel has been exposed to,” he said, accusing some Muslim governments of adapting to the Zionist state under US patronage for the award for regional stability and moral responsibility.
Ji Emir condemned Muslim leaders for their “lack of reaction of resolute”.
“Had there been any honor or courage in the Muslim world, Israel would not have dared to commit such barbarism,” he said.
He claimed that over 80,000 homes had been destroyed in the West Bank, thousands of prisoners, and that Israel is conducting a genocide campaign.
He warned that those who cooperated with Israel betrayed Ummah and inflicted long -term damage. “It is the collective duty of the Muslim world to raise his vote for al-QDS and the Palestinian people,” he added.
By touching the domestic issues, Hafiz Naeem rejected the government’s recent decision to reduce the electricity bills as inadequate, adding that citizens continue to face high inflation and serious financial difficulty, while the government implements “cosmetic measures”.
In response to a media question, he said that Jamaat-e-Islami plans to send a letter to the United Nations Secretary General in the coming months, documented alleged Israeli aggression and seeks to arouse global conscience.
He also called on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to clarify reports of a Pakistani delegation that is allegedly visiting Israel. If such persons exist, he said, they would have to be detained and asked who approved their journey, which he said contradicts Pakistan’s official foreign policy.
He appealed to religious scholars, including Mufti Taqi Usmani and Mufti Munebur Rehman, to issue Shariah guidance on the concept of jihad in the connection with Israeli acts in Gaza.
He said such religious leadership could affect Muslim rulers to take concrete actions in defense of Palestinians.
