Lahore:

Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami, Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman, while approaching an emergency press conference in Mansoora, Lahore, condemned strong Israeli aggression in Palestine, the silence of the Muslim world and the apathy of the international community.

He said that the true face of Western powers and Muslim regimes supporting Israel has now been postponed. He announced a nationwide solidarity campaign and said that Jamaat-e-Islami will organize Protestmarscher across the country in support of the Palestinian people.

Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman announced that protest meetings will be held outside US embassies on April 11 in Lahore, April 13 in Karachi, and April 20 in Islamabad to send a strong message to the world against Israeli atrocities in Palestine.

He criticized Muslim rulers and said, “Had there been any honor and against back in the Muslim world, Israel would not have dared to commit such barbarism.” He warned that adapting to the Zionist regime and entering into agreements under US patron would not secure the security of Muslim countries. “Suppression is not limited to Gaza alone; Israel has ripped over 80,000 homes in the West Bank, imprisoned thousands and commits genocide,” he added.

He said that those who betray Ummah by cooperating with Zionists cause irreparable harm, and it is the collective responsibility of the Muslim world to raise their voice for al-Quds and the Palestinian people.

In comments on the government’s recent steps to reduce the electricity bills, Hafiz Naeem called it inadequate, saying the public is suffering from inflation and financial difficulty, while the government only takes cosmetic measures.

In response to a question, Hafiz Naeem Ur Rehman said that Jamaat-e-Islami will send a letter to the United Nations Secretary General in the coming months and highlight Israeli aggression and terrorism in Palestine in an attempt to arouse the global conscience.

He also demanded that the Foreign Ministry clarified reports of a Pakistani delegation that allegedly visited Israel. He said that if such persons exist, they must be arrested and interrogated about who authorized them to participate in dialogue with Israelis who are against the official policy of the state.
