Butler was excluded for the rest of Game 2 in Warriors’ Western Conference first round series with Houston Rockets after taking a hard fall in the first quarter on a mistake of Amen Thompson. He left the game and was taken to the dressing room shortly after the collision.
He was diagnosed with a pelvic contusion.
Butler was injured when Thompson was pushed into his legs as he jumped to try to seize a rebound. Both players crashed to court in the collision, but Butler remained further down than Thompson.
It was unclear what Butler’s injury was at the moment when he went, gently, to the dressing room.
Eventually he got up and went slowly to the other end of the court to shoot free kick. Butler made 1-of-2 and was soon taken out of the game and immediately went to the closet room.
Rockets, who never drew on Wednesday, won 109-94 for the even series.
Game 3 in the Warriors Rockets series is set for Saturday at. 20:30 Eastern time.
