ABC has suspended Jimmy Kimmel Live! For an indefinite period after comments, the late evening hosted the killing of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
The network’s decision came just hours after the Federal Communications Commission President Brendan Carr – was appointed under former President Donald Trump – ushered in during his performance at Benny Johnson’s podcast that TV companies could be postponed to fines or revocation of the license if they did not act against Kimmel’s show.
In a statement on Wednesday night, ABC – which is owned by Disney – would confirm that it would replace Kimmel’s program in its schedule “For the foreseeable future.”
NEXSTAR MEDIA, one of the largest US station owners, also said it would stop emitting Jimmy Kimmel Live! nationwide and calls his remarks “offensive and insensitive.”
Double Down on the message announced the Sinclair Broadcast Group, which owns the most ABC -associated companies, plans to send out a tribute to Kirk under Kimmel’s Timeslot.
Trump praised the move on social media, called it “good news for America” and congratulated ABC with his “Courage.” He spotted NBC hosted Jimmy Fallon and Seth Meyers as “Total Losers”, a jab that comes two months after Stephen Colbert’s show was canceled.
Kimel’s original comments came under his Monday and Tuesday monologues. Referring to the suspect who is accused of killing Kirk-28-year-old Tyler Robinson, now facing sharpened murders and other prosecutor-criticized Kimmel Maga supporters to “try to score political points” and spotted Vice President JD Vance for accusing the political leftist without evidence.
He quoted research that attributes the most extremist violence in the United States to the right-right groups, where he Waste Vancer’s claims such as “Complete Bullshit.”
Kimmel has not yet issued a public statement about the suspension.
