Jimmy Rollins sinks hole-in-one at American Century Championship

Jimmy Rollins, a former Philadelphia Phillie Shortstop and the World Series Champion, had reason to celebrate as he attended the American Century Championship Celebrity Golf Tournament on Saturday.

Rollins was on par-3 12. Hole at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Club in Nevada. He took his turn from the tee box so that his ball hits the green and then rolled into the cup. It was the third year in a row that a hole in the American century championship has been made.

He also received the MasterCraft X24 Boat for his performance.

“Was the third hole, so I started on (back nine). And I just got my first hole-in-one and won a boat,” he said via NBC Sports. “American Century Championship, Oh man, this is beautiful.”

He said it was the first hole-in-one he has ever made.

Rollins was still against the bottom of the leaderboard when the tournament started again on Sunday. Former NHL star Joe Pavelski and ex-his men’s football star Taylor Twellman fought for the lead with country music artist Jake Owen and Carolina Panthers Broad receives Adam Thielmen.

The tournament has been played annually on the course for more than 30 years. The event is a 54-hole stableford format, where golfers earn points for each hole based on the scoring for pairs. The golfer, who achieves the most points wins. The tournament also collects money for local charities.

Former tennis star Mardy Fish won the tournament last year.
