Islamabad:

A Jit formed last year to investigate a smear campaign against state institutions on social media has again called up sixteen PTI leaders.

According to a notification issued on March 15 by Office of the Islamabad IGP, there is sufficient material available with Jit to assume that the PTI leaders are involved or closely familiar with the facts and circumstances of the disputed question before Jit.

“Therefore, you are instructed to act in person before Jit on 18.03.2025 at 12.00 on the Conference Room Central Police Office, Police Line headquarters, Sector H-11 Islamabad and explain your position in this regard.

“You are also instructed to bring your original CNIC and other evidence or information or documents, if any, in your support. In the event of a lack of performance, it is assumed that you have nothing to present or indicate in your defense,” the message said.

PML-N led the Federal Government a notification dated September 8, 2024, JIT made up Jit with regard to section 30 of the Act on the Prevention of Electronic Crimes, 2016 according to the Convener ship by Islamabad IGP.

Jit is investigating the matter to determine the accused’s organized goals and their accomplices, who allegedly created chaos and disorder in Pakistan through a malicious social media campaign.
