John Cena was talking about his hair loss and travel.
In an honest conversation for this week’s PEOPLE Magazine Cover Shoot, he revealed, “When I tried to hide my hair loss, the audience brought it out.”
The wrestler-facing actor remembered, “I saw their characters saying ‘the bald John Cena.'”
“They pushed me into seeing what my options were. I now have a routine: Red Lights Therapy, Minoxidil, Vitamins, Shampoo, Balsam and I also got a hair transplant last November,” he added about how criticism pressed him to do better, but Cena clarified he could have done without “shame” too.
“I hate the fact that if there wasn’t so much shame around it I would have got it done 10 years ago. I thought I was alone but seven or eight out of 10 [men] Suffering from thinning or baldness, ”he added.
Cena also mentioned that he loves his new look and said, “They do nothing except to move your hair, one by one, from one area to another.”
“If anyone wants to sweat me for it, I don’t think there’s any shame in it,” he said to the outlet, adding, “It changed the course of my life completely.”
When John Cena finished the conversation about his hair loss match, he also explained how his look gives him more reach on screen as an actor, “Another hairstyle can identify some that can make me more work do what I love to do.”
