John Oliver breaks silence over Stephen Colbert’s Talkshow -annullering

John Oliver has shared his reaction to the cancellation of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.

In a recent chat with journalists on Saturday night, the colleague called the late night comedian John Oliver the news “incredibly sad.”

The Last week tonight The host started, “I love Stephen, I love his staff. I love the show, it’s incredibly sad,” calls the news “very, very, very sad” and said the show meant a lot to him personally.

Oliver continued to share how much in the evening TV has affected him, saying, “Not only because I work in them because I grew up in England myself, I would watch Letterman’s show, which was obviously Stephen’s show, and think about what a glamorous world it was.”

However, he still expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming episodes, “I am partly excited to see what to do in the next ten months.”

It is relevant to mention that Stephen Colbert announced on Thursday, July 18th that his CBS Last night talk show will end in May 2026.

Per. CBS, The cancellation is “purely a financial decision on a challenging background in late evening.”
