Johnny Manziel can go down as one of the biggest “what-if” in the NFL story when the electric Heisman-trophy-winning quarterback flamed out in the pros after Cleveland Browns chose him in the first round of 2014.

Generally, Manziel played two seasons in the NFL before trying his hand in the Canadian Football League and Alliance of American Football.

He appeared on Logan Paul’s “impaulsive” podcast and revealed that he was almost trying a NFL return. Paul asked him if it was too late for him to be a quarterback now.

“I asked myself this question last year at one point in him,” Manziel said. “Got me in a mindset of similar, ‘OK, I want to start training again, throwing the football around, see if I can still get in shape.’

“I remember I called my agent when I was like, ‘Ok, I think I’ll try to make a comeback.’ He’s like ‘OK, we start talking to some guys, UFL, XFL.’ And I’m just sitting there thinking like, ‘There’s no way I go back to F — ing games in one of these early league-UVL, XFL, something similar and go do it all again.

Manziel suggested that the idea of going into the smaller leagues to try to have a “three or four stretch of games” to maybe get a training camp invitation was not appealing to him.

“As much as I would like to think it’s something I could do, I think about 32 my chances is pretty chopped,” he said.
