Jessalyn Siwa has reacted to the controversy around her daughter, Jojo Siwa, after actor Mickey Rourke used a gay slur during a recent episode of Celebrity Big Brother UK.

In a video that was shared to Instagram on Friday, April 11, Jessalyn expressed both disappointment and concern.

According to US weeklyshe said, “I wasn’t surprised he wasn’t sent home. I’m really sad that I sent my child to a stranger to make a TV show and she was treated like it right away.”

Furthermore, the incident happened early in the season when Rourke, 72, told Jojo, 21 that she “won’t be gay” if she stayed more than four days in the Big Brother House.

Jojo replied with confidence and said, “I can guarantee that I will still be gay – and in a very happy relationship.”

According to the publication, Rourke later used a homophobic sling while talking to another housekeeper, Chris Hughes.

Although he refused to direct the slide against Jojo, his representative defended him and called Rourke “authentically himself.”
