89. Masters Tournament starts in Augusta
Former PGA Tour golf player Jerry Pate, who finished the top 5 in Masters twice, joins ‘Fox & Friends First’ to discuss his predictions for the annual tournament as the players are set to tee off in Augusta, Georgia.
Jon Rahm was once no. 1 golf player in the world, but after winning Masters in 2023 he has struggled to remain competitive in Majors coming next.
On Thursday, Rahm had a few bad breaks and almost broke his club as he ran a tee shot on the ninth hole to the right and into the forest. Rahm knew exactly what was happening and let the club out of his hands as the ball ripped off.

He almost broke the club over his knee before thinking he may need the club for the rest of his round.
He finished the first round of Masters shooting 3-over pairs and was tied to 63 .. He mapped five bogeys.
Datagolf.com projected that 3-over could be the carved line to make it the last two days of the tournament, with a nearly 30% chance of moving down to +4 and about a 20% chance of it moving to +2.
Rahm was one of the handfuls of the Tour golf players who joined Liv -Golf in the last few years. He is third this season in the life golf positions. He finished tied to second place at Riyadh and had not fallen out of the top 10 all season.

Rahm ended tied to 45. On last year’s Masters. He talked earlier this week about the pressure he has felt in the midst of traction between PGA Tour and Liv Golf.
“There were a few times when there were many questions that I didn’t really have any answers to, and I tried to do, and I really didn’t,” he said through the athletic. “Like … the state of the game and what happens. We don’t know. Nobody knows. We all want a solution and it’s hard to give one.”

Justin Rose finished the first round of the lead at. 7 Under Corey Conners, Scottie Scheffler and Ludvig Aberg tied to second place at 4-Under.
