Maine Coast Fisherman’s Association praised Jordon Hudson for his advocacy under Miss Maine USA -Pageant earlier this month.
Support for Maine fishermen seemed to be close to Hudson’s heart. She has championed their case, not only in Pageant, but also thanked Senator Susan Collins, R-Maine and the Trump administration for her renegotiation by Maine Sea Grant financing.

“Lawyer for Maine’s commercial fisherman has many forms, and sometimes it goes over a scene in heels wearing a bikini,” wrote Maine Coast Fishermen’s Association on her Instagram stories on Monday. “Jordon Hudson helps shine a limelight on Maine fishing society in ways we never imagined, from the stage to working waterfront.
“We are grateful for voices like Jordons that remind us of advocacy, do not always look the same, but it always matters. Together we endure.”
Hudson was asked under Miss Maine USA -Page for a moment in life she wanted to return to. She said she wanted her to be transported back to her family’s fishing boat.

“I often think about this because there is a mass immigration for fishermen that occurs in the rural areas in Maine, and I will not see more fishermen leave this place,” she said via Mass Live. “Like your next Miss Maine US, I would do a point to go to society … to go into government and go in for these people so they don’t have to think of these memories as an earlier moment.”
Hudson’s parents owned a fishing company, Frenchman’s Bay Fisheries, in Maine. However, after the area they used to fish, Taunton Bay, was closed for fishing by the state in 2000, their business eventually went bankrupt years later.
Her family’s ship allegedly suffered damage and could not afford repairs. The family tried to lobby the state and the local legislators to facilitate the rules that prevented the fishing sector and finally the closure of their business.

The family eventually moved to Massachusetts.
