Jui-F advertises drives against ‘U-Islamic’ Child Massen Law

Jamat Disadvanta-e-Islam-Fazl (Jui-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Sunday came out strongly against the newly adopted Islamabad Capital Territory Child Marriage Law 2025, announcing a nationwide protest campaign to “raise awareness” among the public.

When he spoke at a press conference in Peshawar, Juii-F Supremo categorically rejected the legislation and claimed that undermined Islamic values ​​and societal norms by criminalizing underage marriage while enabling objectionable conditions.

“Pakistan is a strange country … During the general Musharraf time, a constitutional amendment was adopted in the name of women’s rights that decriminalized sexual intercourse outside of marriage,” he said. “It took it out of the area of ​​sin.”

“Now they are trying to ban the marriage of people under the age of 18. CII has already rejected this, and all disadvantages and their parties agree that it contradicts the Qur’an and Sunnah,” he added, accused the government of trampling constitutional guarantees.

FAZL announced that his party would launch a series of protest activities in response to the law, including events and a larger public conference scheduled for June 29 in the Hazara Division, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

“We will arrange events, but they will not focus on a topic that the al-Aqsa mosque,” he said. “Now we will host events to raise awareness of national sovereignty and Islamic governance.”

“God willing, we will present our attitude to the world freely. Islam is a belief that moves with the world and can be beneficial.”

The law signed by the president on May 27, after its passage through both parliamentary houses, aims to ban marriage marriage in Islamabad by banning marriages involving persons under the age of 18.
