Chief for his own fraction of Jamat Disadvantaged by-I-is (Jui-F), Maulana Fazlur Rehman on Sunday issued a strict warning to the federal government and claimed his party could “take over Islamabad within a week’s notice” if pushed to the brim.
The Jui-F chief, who approached the Shaiir-e-Islam conference in Battagtram, said his party rejected both the 2018 and 2024 elections and described them as “fraudulent and manipulated.” He accused the ruling coalition of lack of legitimacy and warned the establishment of ignoring the will of the public.
“These kinds of governments can’t last,” Rehman said. “Those who consider themselves powerful must bow to people’s will.”
When he claimed that his party stands for constitutional supremacy, the Jui-F leader promised to lead a movement that would create a “revolution” in the country. “We want the rule of law and the constitution. Jui-F workers will be in the field and success will be ours because Allah’s power is with us,” he added.
By taking a strong anti-American attitude, Fazl Washington accused of hypocrisy and betrayal. “The same America that abandoned us many times now asks to go back together and call upon the name of the Prophet Ibrahim (AS),” he said. “But how can we forget America’s role in the oppression of Muslims in Palestine, Libya, Egypt, Syria and Jordan?”
With reference to recent praise for US President Donald Trump of government, he criticized the prime minister’s nomination of Trump for a Nobel Peace Prize. “Our view is clear: If Trump exists, peace doesn’t – and if there is peace, Trump doesn’t,” he said.
The Jui-F chief also expressed solidarity with Iran as opposed to Israel and promised emergency preparedness to defend the holiness in the holy places. “We are committed to the Muslim Ummah’s Unit and ready to protect Haramain,” he said.
Warning of serious consequences, he said his party was “forced” against a confrontation. “We prioritize national security, but if the need arises, we will declare jihad and put our lives to this country’s defense,” he claimed.
When he repeated his rejection of the ruling political order, Fazl said his party would continue to oppose the current setup. “We did not let the previous government work, nor will we let this work,” he declared. “We are not willing to accept this government and will continue to resist it.”
The conference was also treated by senior Jui-F leaders, including Maulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri, who claimed that the current provincial government in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa had “broken all corruption registers.”
