ISLAMABAD:

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) on Thursday hit back at Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, calling him a failed politician who conveniently lied on the television screen to keep himself relevant in the political arena scene.

In a hard-hitting statement, JUI-F spokesperson Aslam Ghori said Gandapur’s real role was nothing but a pawn planted to create disunity among the opposition. He added that Gandapur was a cause of embarrassment for his own party’s founder.

Earlier in the day, while talking to reporters after the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) delegation’s talks with the government in Islamabad, Gandapur sharply criticized JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman, saying that the JUI-F chief was of much lower stature. than Imran Khan.

Referring to Fazl’s allegations of electoral fraud, Gandapur said the JUI-F chief had been deceived. “You have certainly been cheated; the promises made to you were not fulfilled. Name those who cheated you and do not talk about us,” said Gandapur.

Responding to the chief minister’s harsh remarks, the JUI-F spokesperson said in a statement that Fazl had not been deceived, rather the PTI founder was deceived. Ghori warned that Gandapur had been tasked with dividing the opposition, hence his bragging on television.

“Farmers like Ali Amin Gandapur are being used to divide the opposition, Ali Amin regularly apologizes to the establishment in closed rooms and starts boasting when they come out,” the spokesman said. He added that during Gandapur, corruption and looting of government resources was rampant in KP.

The spokesman mocked the KP Chief Minister for his escape from the PTI protest in Islamabad on November 26 in the wake of a government crackdown. “The person who left the workers alone in D Chowk and ran away can no longer talk about political ethics,” the spokesperson said.
