Julia Roberts, a well -established actress, shares that at the beginning of her career she came across people in the industry, as she described as “cruel.”
In an interview with PeopleShe shares, “I don’t think I went into my career with great self -confidence. I encountered early, not much, but a few critical people who were really cruel.”
The star continues, “and it was a really interesting challenge for me to decide the kind of person I would strive to be.”
“So it was so much more about who I would be in contrast to what kind of career I wanted,” Julia notes.
“And then I would take the person I would build and put that person in these different working life situations,” adds the actress.
These experiences, says Julia, steeled her enough to move forward in her career. “Of course, even then, I would have strips of gratitude. I would think, ‘Okay, there’s a reason it has to be so hard.'”
“Now I look at it as some of the lessons for which I am the most grateful because they proved my stamina for myself.”
In the industry, Notting Hill Actress says the need to be emotionally strong is a key to success.
“Being insecure, it can be paralyzing. So if someone bothered me, it stopped me. I was apoplectic, so learning to navigate it – because this is not an industry to be in if you can’t take criticism or hardness or be embarrassed,” she concludes.
Julia’s upcoming film After the hunt Opens in cinemas, even if they are limited, on October 10, and then it gets a wide release on October 17th.
