- Jurassic World Evolution 3 will no longer contain AI -Generated Character Portraits
- This was confirmed by the developers via Steam Forum
- It follows Community -ADDRACKS AGE
The developer of the upcoming dinosaur park control simulator Jurassic World Evolution 3 Has announced that the game will no longer contain some AI-generated visual assets after the indignation of society.
When the next entry in Jurassic World Evolution Series was first revealed at last year’s Summer Game Party, some Eagle-Eyed fans discovered an AI-generated content information on its Steam page. “Researchers’ Avatars are created using generative AI,” read it, referring to some character portraits in the game.
The valve, now required by Valve, is intended to increase transparency and allow consumers to decide if they are comfortable buying a product with a generative AI involvement.
Many Jurassic World Evolution Fans responded negatively to the news, with a huge thread on steam forums discussing the move. “No, I don’t want to support this,” wrote a potential player. “It’s a matter of principle,” chimmed in another.
A couple of defended the decision: “If you are using AI to quickly generate images to scientists […] Helps freeing up time for development on actually important mechanics, then it’s worth using. Being sorry for something so insignificant for the rest of the game is quite ridiculous. “
Whichever side of the AI content debate you fall on, it is never a particularly good idea to polarize your fanbase like this prior to a greater launch, and risk overshadowing all other conversation about the game.
This is probably one of the reasons why Developer Frontier Developments have announced that the game will no longer contain the AI-generated assets.
“Thank you for your feedback on this topic,” wrote a representative on the steam forum “We have chosen to remove the use of generative AI to scientist in Jurassic World Evolution 3“
The AI-generated content submission has now also been removed from the Steam side, which presumably means that the title will no longer contain any AI-generated content.
Jurassic World Evolution 3 will be launched on October 21, 2025 to PC, Xbox Series X and Series S and PlayStation 5.
