Justin Rose from England defeated the reigning US Open champion JJ Spaun in a sudden-death end game at St. Jude Championship to kick FedEx Cup playoffs.
To get to the playoffs Fuglede Rose Four of his last five holes – he also birded two of the three playoff holes.
After Rose Birdied for the second time in the playoffs, he celebrated with an emphatic fist pump. Spaun’s seven-foot slid at the left edge, giving Rose the victory.

The Leaderboard had been piled – Tommy Fleetwood had part of the lead late, along Wih Scottie Scheffler, but Fleetwood Bogeyed 17 to miss the playoffs at a stroke. Scheffler also finished tied to the third at -15.
The Chants of “USA” called through the Memphis quantity at TPC Southwind, as both golfers are now on their way to Bethpage Black next month and clinging automatic bids. It will be Spaun’s first Ryder Cup, while Rose will be in his seventh out of the last eight events.

“A fantastic last 90 minutes,” Rose said. “I played incredible golf down the stretch. When I bring my best, I know I’m good enough to play and to compete and now win against the best players in the world. Very happy day for me.”
Spaun showed lots of moxie on her own. He made a 20-foot Birdie-Putt on the 17th hole to pull into a proportion of the lead and closed with a 65. He also made a 30-foot birdie-putt on the other extra hole with rose in tight.
“I hung in there the best I could, and he hit me first to the hole. Just didn’t mean to,” said Spaun, locking a place in his first Ryder Cup.

The BMW Championship next week now has the top-50 in the FedEx Cup position (Spaun and Rose Rank Third and Fourth, Behind Scheffler and Rory McIlroy).
