Justin Rose came almost nowhere to end Runner-Up to Rory McIlroy on Masters on Sunday.
Rose shot one last round 66 to force an end game against McIlroy. He lost against McIlroy after missing a 15-foot putt. He came out of the gate strongly with a first round 65, but it was 75 in the third round that forced him to climb uphill in the final round.

It was the third time Rose had finished second or tied to second place at Masters. It was the second one just second place when he was a runner-up on the Open Championship last year.
“The last two majors I’ve played, I’m done in second place, and it’s more proof that I’m doing some really good job,” he said via the BBC. “At Royal Troon and again here at Masters when it comes to the right business, I feel like I’m really calm and ready for it, which in turn I’m proud of, but it hurts.”
In 2017, Rose lost to Sergio Garcia in an playoffs. He forced this year’s end game with a 20-foot birdie on the 18th hole.

Rory McIlroy gives heartfelt advice to daughter, Poppy, after Masters wins: ‘Never give up on your dreams’
He joined Ben Hogan as the only players who lost twice in the playoffs at Augusta National. Hogan won Masters twice.
“It’s the kind of put you dream of as a kid and having it and holes it was a special feeling,” Rose said. “And unfortunately, they end games, they always end so quickly. If you’re not the guy who hits the big shot or holes the big putt, it’s over. But not really something I could have done more today.”
