Justin Sun went boldly, how few men have gone before and after returning from a short trip to the room, which the Tron founder has brought some cosmic ambitions to the ecosystem.
“Going to the room has always been a dream for me since I was a little kid,” Sun told Coindesk in an interview after flying aboard Blue Origin’s NS-34 mission on August 3rd.
“At the beginning of a new chapter in investigation, we are becoming more open and accessible, not just for governments or large institutions,” he said.
The sun secured its seat aboard Blue Origin in 2021 with a winning bid of $ 28 million during a public auction. At that time, his identity was kept secret. Later, he revealed that he was the anonymous buyer and advertised plans to bring five other passengers with him on a future flight.
“Over the coming months, he will nominate five extraordinary men and women to travel with him on his journey,” Blue Origin said in a 2021 message.
The revenue from the auction went to the club for the future, Blue Origin’s nonprofit, which finances space education efforts.
Sun, who eventually flew after years of delays, described the 10-minute journey as “a surreal experience, peaceful, calm and completely unforgettable.”
“In the room, I realized how small the earth is. It’s the only home we have and we have to do what we can to look after it,” he said.
Despite the risk of space travel, Sun said he welcomes the challenge.
“Progress rarely comes without challenges. I’ve always been open to trying new things and pushing beyond my comfort zone,” he said.
Sun also used the opportunity to connect the mission to his work in blockchain.
“This is an exciting moment for throne. We have always focused on innovation and expansion of what is possible, starting with economy and now looks out over the earth,” he continued.
“Sending Tron out into space is a powerful symbol of what boundless cooperation can achieve. I think the potential benefits of space exploration far outweigh the risk,” added Sun.
“Every step we take helps make room more secure and more accessible to others in the future,” he noted.
