Islamabad:
Senator Sherry Rehman inaugurated an art exhibition about the culture and identity of the Kalash Society at Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA).
The exhibition entitled “Rekingingling: The Kalash narrative” emphasized the importance of preserving and celebrating Pakistan’s different cultural heritage. It highlighted the work of six art -trained artists: Ahmed Habib, Akram Dost Baloch, Ejaz Khan, Ma Bhatti, Rifhat Khatak and Samreen Asif.
“This exhibition is a beautiful celebration of the unique and lively culture of the Kalash community,” Rehman said. “Their traditions and inheritance are not only different, but also deeply inspiring.”
“It is important that we continue to promote and appreciate the different cultural identities that make up the drug of our nation,” she added. “The artists have skillfully highlighted meaningful themes through modern expressions, and the whole team deserves a sincere congratulations for this commendable effort.”
She went to congratulates the organizers and participants of curating a powerful and visually compelling showcase, adding that such initiatives play an important role in promoting cultural understanding and unity.
