Karachi braces for cold as rain system approaches

Karachi continues to be gripped by cool weather as temperatures remain low, with a rain-bearing system expected to enter Pakistan between January 18 and 20.

The minimum temperature recorded today was 11°C with visibility reduced to 2.5 kilometers due to light fog and the weather is expected to remain cold and dry over the next 24 hours.

Winds from the northeast are expected to blow at speeds between 5 and 20 km/h, while maximum temperatures may reach 27°C. Yesterday, the city recorded a minimum temperature of 10.8°C.

The Meteorological Department predicts that a rain-bearing system is likely to enter Pakistan between January 18 and 20, bringing chances of light rain in Punjab along with cloudy conditions.
