Flyover Karachi Port Trust (KPT) remains closed for a month when Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) begins crucial repair and maintenance work to ensure structural security, Mayor Murtaza Wahab confirmed.

To facilitate the impact of commuters, a detailed traffic drainage plan has been developed in coordination with Karachi traffic police, outlining alternative routes. Citizens are advised to follow the new routes to avoid overloading.

The message comes when the city rolls from running electricity stops, which have given rise to widespread protests.

Residents of sites such as Liaquatabad and Azizabad staged demonstrations on larger roads, burning tires and singing slogans against K-electric and government authorities.

The protests, driven by long power cuts under extreme heat, caused serious traffic disorders on several key routes.

The authorities have called for tranquility and insured citizens in the efforts to solve both infrastructure and use concerns.

In Karachi, this was one of the first few bridges to be built as a structure on several levels.

Furthermore, the species of road layout, where several merger and exit ramps are delivered at the bridge, was a unique element of this flyover exchange.
