Kashmiris’ right to self -government that is not marketable, says OIC

Pakistan raised the question of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir on the sidelines for the organization of Islamic Cooperation Meeting during the United Nations General Assembly 80 session. In a foreign office declaration, Pakistan-of Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia, and Niger- “unshakable support to the unmistakable right of Kashmiri people to self-determination.”

“Emphasized that some of the Indian leaders’ unjustified claims and irresponsible statements about Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan pose a threat to regional peace.”

This can be referred to the recent statements of Indian Defense Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday. The Minister suggested that Operation Sindhoor was not completed, but merely paused, with a possible “second and third phase of Operation Sindhoor.” He claimed that India will take control of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

Operation Sindhoor was India’s military act against Pakistan after an attack in Pahaldam. India basically held Islamabad responsible for the attack and launched a military reaction that killed 51 Pakistanis. In response to India’s attack, the Pakistani army launched Operation Bunyanum Marsoos. Pakistan and India accepted a ceasefire brokered by US President Trump.

The Foreign Office (FO) expressed concern about the construction of the Indian military in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) following the Pahagam attack. Indian authorities in July launched a deportation campaign aimed at Muslims allegedly expeling 1,900 people to Bangladesh, reported by The Washington Post.

India has maintained an estimated 700,000 troops in the valley, making it one of the most militarized places on earth.

“Damn the prolonged detention of the thousands of Kashmiri -Political Workers, Dissents, and Human Rights Defenders; Prohibition of Many Kashmiri -Political Parties; and the ongoing campaign to confiscate the properties of Kashmiri activists.”

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has also called for the solution of decades-old Kashmir-twist in accordance with UN decisions.

He approached the 80th session of the UN General Assembly (Unga) in New York and said that the dialogue is the only way to solve the problem and emphasize that the preservation of peace and stability in South Asia is extremely important.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar are both currently present in New York and participating in the Unga session. According to diplomatic sources, the Prime Minister is traveling briefly to Washington of New York for a meeting with President Trump.
