A royal historian has explained to Princess of Wales Kate Middleton’s biggest role if her older son Prince George becomes king before 18 years in a worst case.
Royal Historian Marlene Koenig talked to US weekly.
The expert said Kate Middleton’s commitment to George’s preparation to become king will be “different” than man Prince William’s.
Marlene said: “She will never have a constitutional role, except as regent in a worst case if George becomes king before 18 years.
“She’s there to be the loving, supportive mother in everything George does because he is first and foremost her son.”
King Charles and heir to Tron Prince William will take the reins when it comes to preparing George with “Knowledge and practice for their roles.”
The publication also noted that it seems that Prince William and Kate have prepared George for the throne in other ways in recent years.
The Prince and Princess of Wales dated for almost 10 years before their engagement was announced, which allowed Kate time and space to learn about her future life as a member of the royal family, the expert said, explaining, “in time, as the wife of the heir to the throne and eventually as a queen consort. She is also the mother of a future king.”
