Kate Middleton looks up to one of the most daring members of the royal family as she stands by her decision on the next phase of the royal family.
The Princess of Wales is a doting mother of three – Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis – and has not shied away from prioritizing their interests over royal tradition. The protection of the children is a special trait that Princess Diana, who had a more rebellious streak with the company, shares with her daughter-in-law.
Although Kate is known to honor royal protocol and tradition to a T, the future queen has appeared to put her foot down for Prince George, as Diana once did for Prince William and Prince Harry.
While it was reported that George will be going to the prestigious Eton College next September, Kate wanted her son to enroll at her alma mater Marlborough College. Kate did not have a pleasant experience at Eton and found that she thrived at Marlborough.
However, The Telegraph’s latest report that suggested the 12-year-old royal is heading to Marlborough.
The move appears to be reminiscent of the one Diana took, a major break with royal tradition after seeing how miserable her husband Charles was at Gordonstoun, according to the book, Dianaworld: An Obsession written by author Edward White.
Gordonstoun’s headmaster had “publicly called for the princes to be educated at a state school”, but Diana “rejected all these suggestions”. She “insisted that the boys should be sent to board at Eton College”, as all the men in her family had attended the school.
