- Rakeydo has no prior products which raises concern for project execution credibility
- The Integrated Intel N150 processor can fight with demanding tasks at work station level
- Ports include USB, HDMI, Type-C and Audio for flexible connections
A mechanical keyboard with an integrated Mini -PC has quickly gained attention to Kickstarter and reached its financing target in just seven hours.
The project, called “All-in-one keyboard PC” by its developer Rakeydo, presents a new approach to Desktop Computing.
It combines a mechanical keyboard and a compact computer in a single device for the purpose of providing workstation level performance in a fraction of the room.
Quick funding sparks interest
However, despite the early enthusiasm, potential buyers may have to weigh risks and practicalities before committing funds for a crowdfunding campaign of $ 500.
Rakedo’s device integrates an Intel N150 processor inside a 66-key mechanical keyboard.
The keyboard uses responsive red switches, RGB backlighting with nine lighting effects and comes in a black-pink color scheme.
Its storage options range from 512 GB to 2TB, with all models offering 16 GB of RAM and Windows 11 Pro Preinstalled.
The device also supports multiple ports, including USB, HDMI, full function Type-C and a 3.5mm audio plug that enables connections to screens, TVs, projectors or peripheral devices without adapters.
Its portable bottom class motherboard and double copper heating pipes are designed for quiet cooling under heavy work loads.
By integrating a Mini -PC into a keyboard, the Rakedo places the device as both a portable business and a mobile workstation.
According to the campaign, connecting the keyboard to a screen or TV instantly creates a complete desktop environment.
The company claims that the product fits tasks such as coding, office work, easy graphic design or even VR applications.
Such promises place it in competition with compact systems like Raspberry Pi 400 or Orange PI 800, while also remembering all-in-one computers such as Commodore 64.
While the specifications and versatility can appeal to enthusiasts, Rakeydo’s lack of a proven Track Record concerns is raising.
The company has not completed any previous projects or released other products. Although I would like to take the risk, the choice of an Intel N150 processor also limits its appeal.
Kickstarter campaigns often involve unpredictable delays or design comments, and there is no guarantee that this keyboard-PC hybrid delivers desktop-class performance similar to its claims.
At the time of writing, Kickstarter had already attracted 38 backers and raised $ 14,928, which is 746.4% of its $ 2,000 target.
