Kim Kardashian is the target of backlash again after she shared a new update about her pets following strong criticism from animal rights group PETA.
The 45-year-old socialite took to Instagram and shared a photo of four Pomeranian puppies and wrote, “welcome to the family.”
The Keeping up with the Kardashians star didn’t share more details about the new additions to her family, but social media was fired up.
Many fingers pointed at the SKIM founder and asked, “Kim, why would we do this,” bringing up Kardashian’s story of buying new pets that “disappear in a few months.”
One comment read: “please adopt from the Humane Society – thank you – so many dogs and cats need homes – thank you Kim,” while a third said: “They are not accessories. Please treat them with kindness and respect.”
Several followers asked about the four puppies the mother-of-four got for each of her children at Christmas, saying: “Where are the other four? What happened to them?”
At the time, PETA co-founder Ingrid Newkirk launched a scathing criticism of Kardashian, saying, “puppies are not plushies. It’s a shame Kim missed the chance to advocate for shelter puppies. Ignoring the homeless crisis is inexcusably callous.”
The reality star did not address the criticism.
