An insider shared that the king hasn’t completely forgotten the “damage” Meghan did to the company, but Charles feels Archie and Lilibet’s mother has a “good heart” and that the Sussexes deserve “empathy and basic decency.”
The 77-year-old king is putting pressure on top aides and key members of the family, including Prince William and Queen Camilla, to leave the bitter old chapter and pursue peace.
“This doesn’t go down well with William or Camilla. They are stunned and say he is too naive. They feel strongly that opening the door to her is asking for trouble,” the source said.
An insider claimed that the monarch would have already sorted out the Harry and Meghan issue, but he fears the extreme wrath of the Prince of Wales.
