King Charles’ cancer journey beats a chord with the public: expert

King Charles’ honesty about cancer brings the nation closer

King Charles is now ready to talk about his cancer experience as he seemed to have moved past the first grief.

According to a former royal gardener, the monarch wants to get in touch with others who go through the same journey.

Talking to GB News, Former royal gardener Jack Stokes said it has been heartfelt to see the king open up and added that it has made people feel closer to him.

The king recently shared a message with cancer patients and called the diagnosis of a scary and overwhelming time, but also one that shows the kindness and strength of people.

To say that the monarch is “made grieving”, Stokes noted that it is “astonishing” to see Charles share his journey with the public.

“I think it has also helped the country to warm to him much more than they did when he was first diagnosed,” he said.

Charles continued: “He just came out and publicly told everyone what happened and that he had to take off from his royal tasks.

“I think the meaning is exactly what we have talked about: With him who has now experienced cancer, it is very meaningful to him.

“He knows people who have had cancer who have suffered and he has lost friends and family to it. We can all appreciate it and recognize it in our own circles.

“This has really taken it to his heart. He is a big supporter of many charities in the UK. He has done great work for these charities.”

He also added, “I have said it before, and he is just working constantly to make sure his charity is raising money to help support all the causes they focus on, whether to help children, get people to jobs or the king’s foundation. There are so many other charities.

“But I think I’ve had this year of terrible cancer diagnosis and now living with cancer is significant. We have been told that the princess of Wales is in remission, but he is currently living with cancer and undergoing treatment. So he sees this on a weekly basis.”
