Prince Harry is still waiting for an invitation from King Charles to meet him when he returned to Britain to attend the Wellchild Awards.
The Duke of Sussex paid tribute to a private tribute to Queen Elizabeth II on the third anniversary of her death, which has given rise to fresh speculation about a possible reconciliation with the royal family.
While the visit may suggest that Harry is open to ribbon repair, Royal Commentator Grant Harrold, former butler to the monarch, believes that a reunion remains unlikely due to deeply rooted matters of trust.
Talking to New York PostHarrold said the king misses his son, but Prince William remains cautious as he fears Harry could use any interaction to his advantage.
Harrold said to the publication, “There are trust problems there but the king misses his son [Harry]. ”
“William is worried that with the things Harry has said, he could use it to his advantage again … as if he’s already done,” he added.
“I think, unfortunately, they don’t trust him. It’s a shame because Harry wants them to.”
