King Charles had a deep love for Pope Francis, says an expert.
His Majesty, who met the Pope in the Vatican this month, days before he died, felt he had a deeper connection with the holy personality.
The royal expert Russell Myers tells Mirror: “In a touching tribute to Pope Francis, the king talked about his” care of both people and planet, “questions in which the two men from different worlds were deeply connected.”
He adds: “The king met Pope Francis double as Prince of Wales, and together with Queen Camilla shared a ‘very significant and special’ secret meeting with the holy father less than two weeks before he died.”
The expert noted, “Royal sources said that both the king and the queen were” extremely grateful and humble “to the audience, which the monarch repeated in his statement yesterday and said how they ‘were very much moved’ for being able to visit him. ‘
“The pope’s epitaph to help people while promoting the values of justice and love for our planet are in line with the king’s ambitions of his own heritage,” he added.
